Position description The Department of Biological Chemistry and The Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism (CEM) in the UCI School of Medicine invites applications for an ASSISTANT PROFESSOR or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR position. Exceptional candidates at the FULL PROFESSOR rank will be considered. We seek outstanding candidates with a research focus on uncovering genetic and epigenetic mechanisms that are related to disease development, and a focus on CRISPR-based screening and editing for therapy.
The CEM is highly interdisciplinary, with particular strengths in epigenetics, cancer, metabolism, neurodegenerative diseases, circadian biology, fungal infection, and bioinformatics. Faculty of the CEM benefit from potentially joining and collaborating with colleagues in the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, the cancer center-affiliated Cancer Research Institute (CRI), the Institute for Immunology, and the Center for Virus Research.
