The Division of Systems Neuroscience is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position of Staff Associate II who will be conducting translational neurobiological research focused on the pathophysiology of severe mental illness. The candidate will be involved in a translational neuroscience project to investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms of genetic risk factors for severe mental illness.Specific responsibilities will include:Human pluripotent stem cell culture and neural lineage differentiation.Molecular genetic studies, including transcriptomic analyses and single-cell RNA sequencing.In vivo animal modeling and neural recordings.Perform sophisticated data analysis and draft manuscripts describing research findings.
