Applicants must have an M.D or equivalent, or M.D. (or equivalent)/Ph.D. degree. Must have board certification in pediatric hematology-oncology (preferred) or medical hematology.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, pediatric residents, and pediatric hematology/oncology fellows, as well as PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient service in pediatric hematology.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include research involving patients with sickle hemoglobinopathies. The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in the field of non-malignant blood disorders and will have a track record of outstanding research accomplishments and extramural funding, demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines. We are seeking candidates with a strong record of scholarship and publications in peer-reviewed journals demonstrating a national/regional reputation.

The successful applicant will have a national reputation in research involving patients with sickle hemoglobinopathies, program administration skills and commitment to direct and grow a clinical program, including interaction with patient advocacy groups. Significant research and clinical resources, space for the research, clinical programs and protected time will be provided to the successful candidate.
