Human Genetics Division Head - (1900013H)

TheUniversity of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics,Division of Genetics, is seeking a board-certified full-timefaculty member at the associateprofessor/professor level to serve as Division Head. We areseeking a dynamic individual to lead an active clinical service withresponsibilities for division administration and active roles in clinical,research, and teaching arenas. The qualifiedcandidate should have a broad interest in Medical Genetics and Genomics includingexperience/expertise in diagnosis and management of inborn errors of metabolismand a research focus with potential collaborations across campus including theProgram for Personalized and Genomic Medicine and the Institute for GenomeSciences. The successful candidate should have an established track record offederal grant funding and current NIH funding. The Division has a collaborativerelationship with the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and is aprimary site for the Department's Pediatric residency training program,participates in teaching students in the School of Medicine (UMSOM), and isdirectly involved in graduate student education in the Master's in GeneticCounseling Training Program and the Human Genetics graduate program.The currentclinical genetics services and resources include both general (pediatric andadult) and specialty-focused (e.g. cardiogenetics) genetics services, withbiochemical genetics, cytogenetics and translational genomics laboratories onsite. The successful candidate will havea primary appointment in Pediatrics, with secondary appointments in otherdepartments and programs, as appropriate. The academic rank and salary of the candidate will be commensurate withexperience and qualifications as evaluated by the UMSOM.
