Biodyne USA is currently looking for a Microbial Ecologist to be a member of our research team at our headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is a full-time lab-based role focused on studying complex microbial consortia used in a variety of agricultural and environmental applications. Candidates must have a strong foundation in microbiology and experience using computational tools to examine complex microbial communities. Experience with isolation and characterization of microbial strains from diverse environments is preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, have excellent attention to detail, be goal-oriented, and self-motivated.
Primary Job Responsibilities/Duties:
Assist in research and development efforts aimed at better understanding complex microbial communities throughout the batch process and in applied environmental systems such as soils and water.
Analysis of microbial communities using a variety of “omics” technologies.
Analyze data, draw conclusions, and present project results with recommendations to management.
Assist in managing the daily workflow of the laboratory.
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
Perform related work and other duties as assigned.
Preferred Relevant Job Experience:
Demonstrated competency in laboratory and computational techniques for analyzing complex microbial communities.
Practical experience isolating and characterizing microbial strains from diverse environments.
Previous experience and safety knowledge for working with a range of microbial organisms.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science or related field, Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
