Specific technical/bench-work research (70%): Conduct background literature research on relevant topics including current methods and reagents. Design experiments and conduct investigations both independently and as part of a research team. Perform molecular biology and biochemistry research including preparing tissue lysates, nucleic acid isolation, qRT-PCR, Western blot and other assays. Ability and willingness to learn complex genomic and proteomic experimental techniques including tissue culture, histology and processing of human and mouse tissue samples for spatial, single cell and single nuclei genomic analysis. Included with this will be evaluation and interpretation of genomic data, gene expression and pathway assessment.
Sample and Data Management (20%) Analyze data collected from experiments to prepare data, presentations and reports. Assist in manuscript development and writing. Keep detailed records of all experiments and procedures in laboratory notebooks, databases, spreadsheets, and web-based applications. Clinical sample handling including receipt, preservation, storage and documentation of sample workflow Organizing data and images from multiple sources
Other duties as assigned (10%): Oversee and train undergraduate student workers. Follow established biological, chemical and physical safety procedures
Requires the ability to work occasional evening and/or weekend hours.

Required Qualifications: Master's degree and 2 years of related experience or BS/BA and 4 years of related experience; or a combination of related education and work experience to equal eight years.
Excellent computer and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
