Burt Research Laboratory at Michigan State University is seeking a full‐time Research Technologist . The Research Technologist will be responsible for recruiting twins and their families, along with the data collection from designated informants, i.e., the twins recruited through our Michigan Twins Neurogenetic Study (MTwiNS . This study is funded by National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver and National Institute of Child Health, and Development (NICHD) and the project examines neural responses to neighborhood disadvantage, the origins of that association, and its consequences for child and adolescent outcomes. The Research Technologist will also oversee and train undergraduate student research assistants who volunteer for this study. Responsibilities will include (1) recruiting and tracking all study participants (2) training and managing undergraduate research assistants in their work on the project (3) assisting with the smooth running of the lab, including general project administrative tasks.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in the specific field of research employment or other related field; up to six months of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in basic research techniques in the specific or related field; word processing, spreadsheet; database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work independently and collaboratively and outstanding leadership and team-building skills.
