Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for NJMS-Microbiology. The purpose of this position is to provide cellular, genetic, molecular, and biochemical support at Dr. Sugimoto's lab.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs laboratory research requiring analysis of yeast cells and mammalian and application of standard cellular, molecular, biochemical, and genetic procedures
Maintains necessary lab records, databases, and files as hard copies and computer files.
Do serial dilutions of biological organisms to assess numbers.
Maintains and manages lab supplies
Follow protocols to conduct basic molecular genetic and cell biology experiments.
Understands and adheres to Rutgers compliance standards as they appear in RBHS' Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science or higher degree(s) and qualifications in lab technology, sufficient capacity and experience to gain expertise in the above duties.

Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds
