Position Information:
The Prenatal Genetic Counselor in Maternal Fetal Medicine practice cares for women referred for the full scope of preconception and pregnancy related genetic indications. Primary responsibilities include providing prenatal genetic counseling services in two office locations, determining optimal prenatal genetic testing strategies and timely reporting of genetic test results, coordinating the care of pregnancies with identified anomalies/genetic conditions, and supporting a growing referral base. Opportunity for participation in education through conferences, lectures, teaching and supervision of graduate students, PA students, and medical students is available. Expected to have a passion for clinical care, a flexible attitude, the ability to work both independently and with a multidisciplinary team including obstetric and pediatric specialists, and a willingness to help drive division and hospital goals forward in providing prenatal genetic care to the women of Wake County. Excellent organization and communication skills, the ability to build positive working relationships and commitment to best practices are key attributes. Must stay abreast of rapidly expanding prenatal genetic testing options through continuing education.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience required

Education Required:
Master's Degree Genetic Counseling Required

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Certified Genetic Counselor Required - Within 24 Months of Hire

Hours of Work:
Varying (Monday- Thursday 8:00-4:30; Friday 8:00-12:30)

Weekend Requirements:
No Weekends
