Department

• Diagnose complex medical problems by referring to a patient's history, examining them, and conducting neurological tests. (10%)
• Counsel patients on neurological disorders and their background. (10%)
• Order neurological tests and interpreting the results of neuroimaging studies. (10%)
• Prescribe and/or administering treatment and medication. (10%)
• Monitor the behavioral and cognitive side effects of treatment and medication. (10%)
• Order supportive care services for patients. (10%)
• Participate in neuroscience research activities. (10%)
• Liaison with medical professionals in the community and hospitals. (10%)
• Keep up-to-date with neurological developments, treatments, and medication. (10%)
• Perform specialized treatments such as sleep disorders, neuroimmunology, neuro-oncology, behavioral neurology, and neurogenetics. (5%)
• Perform and interprete lumbar punctures, electroencephalography, electromyography, and nerve conduction velocity tests. (5%)

• Doctorate Degree Required

• MD-Physician - State Medical Board Required

• Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
• Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care.
• Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications.
• Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills.
• Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems.
• Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Computer skills required.
• Computer skills preferred.
