The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Technician A to join our team in a full time position to work within the division of Molecular Genetics to provide research assistance for clinical studies for molecular genetics of obesity. The qualified candidate will work closely with all team members and the other members of the Division of Molecular Genetics on intervention and observational studies of humans with obesity and related conditions. This position will provide research assistance for clinical studies for molecular genetics of obesity. Work on intervention and observational studies of humans with obesity and related conditions.
Perform basic molecular genetics bench work including DNA extraction, RT-PCR, sanger sequencing, and western blot is useful for patient related projects.
Obtain informed consent and ensure that participants understand premise of project and what their participation entails.
Address participation concerns in a respectful manner in order to address potential mistrust in biomedical and genetic research.
Obtain and label screening specimens for testing.
Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Two years of college or a completed A.A. program with an emphasis in chemistry, biology or physics.
One year of related experience, or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
