Summary The Research Specialist will work on a project that encompasses the study of stress-induced changes in Arabidopsis seed germination from a physiological, bioinformatic, and phenotypic perspective. In addition, the Research Specialist will assist with bulking seed for a cotton diversity panel as well performing DNA/RNA extractions on these plants for further analyses. Laboratory-based responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: plant propagation, seed harvesting, high throughput phenotyping of seed germination using a Raspberry Pi based imaging system, image analysis, hand measurement of cotton seedling traits to examine establishment, RNA isolation, DNA isolation, and PCR-based protocols.
