The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics seeks outstanding applicants for up to two open rank tenure-track faculty positions in the area of molecular biology and biochemistry. We welcome candidates investigating molecular mechanisms of biological systems with relevance to human health. The successful candidates will bridge or build upon our current strengths and bring new perspectives and expertise in cutting-edge topic areas. These current strengths of the department include epigenetics/chromatin biology, genome maintenance, cancer cell biology, cellular signaling, and others. Our review will place special emphasis on the anonymized future research plan, which will be the first application component we review. The new faculty members are expected to establish a vibrant independent research program that provides excellent education and training for a diverse community of graduate, undergraduate, and post-doctoral trainees. Our search focus is assistant professors, but candidates at the associate or full professor level will be considered if they are extraordinarily good matches for the department's mission and current goals.
