Postdoctoral Fellow
School: Faculty of Arts and SciencesDepartment/Area: Molecular and Cellular BiologyPosition Description: The Elya lab seeks to understand the mechanistic bases of behavior modification of fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster) by the fungal pathogen Entomophthora muscae from molecules to circuits. There are open opportunities to work in project areas related to (i) identifying molecular and genetic effectors that give rise to fungal-induced summiting behavior, (ii) developing experimental techniques to alter E. muscae gene expression and achieve transgenic manipulation, (iii) determine the role of host and fungal circadian clocks in manipulated phenotypes.B
