The Biology Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor in Biology to begin July 2023 with the potential to extend for a second year. This person would join a collegial department of thirteen full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to continual growth as educators and mentors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
We seek enthusiastic applicants who are committed to excellence in teaching undergraduates and who have a demonstrated awareness of the importance of diversity in education. Primary teaching duties include teaching Cell Biology, Microbiology, and a combination of introductory biology lecture and lab, biostatistics, introductory bioinformatics, cancer biology, or an upper-level course that otherwise falls within the candidate’s specialty. Qualified candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: microbiology, molecular and cellular biology, or genetics.
Education & Experience
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or have a planned defense date before December 2024, in microbiology, biology, genetics, or a related discipline and have undergraduate teaching experience.
