A successful, well-established, and academic hospital-based private practice group in Peoria, Illinois seeks a Ph.D. Cytogeneticist with certification in Clinical Cytogenetics and Genomics or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics.  The group is based in the Department of Pathology at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and provides services to several hospitals in the OSF Healthcare System including Children's Hospital of Illinois and Saint Francis Medical Center.  Eleven pathologists and two Ph.D. scientists staff the pathology department and provide comprehensive laboratory services for anatomic and clinical pathology, cytogenetic and molecular genetics.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the interpretation and reporting of constitutional and oncology cases processed with karyotyping, FISH, single-gene PCR assays, and next-generation sequencing multigene panels. Leadership and active participation in the development and validation of new genetic assays (FISH, PCR, and NGS) will also be expected.
