A  Full Time position for a Data Scientist is available in the Slotkin laboratory, at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center. The position will analyze different types of whole genome sequencing data in several plant species, including both pipeline and custom analysis of data. The goal of the work will be to generate data visualizations from sequencing data and work towards figure production and publication.  This includes the analysis of both short-read and long-read sequencing approaches. The overall research focuses on the role of epigenetics in regulating transposable elements and transgenes in plants, and the control over their respective activity.
