GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:The Department of Neurology has an opening for a Research Technician in the study of hereditary dystonia. The technician will work in a team with some supervision but also work independently. Primary responsibilities will include extraction and quantification of DNA and RNA, genomic/cDNA gel electrophoresis and sequence analysis, interrogation and interpretation of DNA sequence variation in families and populations, quantitative RT-PCR and analysis, maintenance and propagation of mammalian and laboratory cell lines.
