Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Genetic Counselor for the Pediatrics department within New Jersey Medical School. The primary purpose of the Genetic Counselor position is to provide genetic counseling to Hospital patients. In providing the Services, the Genetic Counselor reports to the Genetic Counseling Supervisor, the Medical Geneticist, and the Pediatrics Division Director.Among the key duties of this position are the following: Prepares and maintains patient records.Conducts intake interviews of patients to elicit complete family histories.Draws family pedigrees.Identifies critically important family members and distinguishes families with hereditary disorders and/or ca
