THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED, PART-TIME POSITION (20 HOURS PER WEEK).

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, this position assists with basic research which entails evaluating the effect of gene therapies in mouse models of human neurological diseases including Parkinson's disease and tauopathy.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains transgenic and knock-out mouse lines and tail genotyping.
2. Performs mouse behavioral and morphological studies.
3. Performs a wide range of molecular biological assays including PCR, qRT-PCR, genotyping, Western blotting, and other molecular biology techniques.
4. Manages day to day operations of multiple studies.
5. Conducts literature searches as needed.
6. Assists with manuscript writing.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
