Job Summary The Research Scientist (Bioinformatician) will perform high end transcriptomics, genomics and epigenomics analysis of big data sets from biological experiments in cells and mice. Duties & Responsibilities
Performs independent original research in human and animal bioinformatics under guidance of the Principal Investigator.
Conducts programing, bioinformatics and statistical analysis on large genomic data sets.
Records, analyzes, organizes, and presents experimental results to the Principal Investigator and the scientific community at lab meetings and conferences.
Prepares and writes manuscripts in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
Assists the Principal Investigator in preparing grant applications.
Trains new staff and students.
Communicates clearly with co-workers and clients in the dissemination of the results.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in bioinformatics or related field and four years of bioinformatics experience in high end programming (Unix/Lenux, R, Python), next generation sequencing, data analysis, and bioinformatics. Experience analyzing large genomic datasets. Appointment Information
