Gibbs Cancer Center & Research Institute along with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System located in Upstate, SC have an outstanding opportunity for a full time Genetic Counselor. Our facility is accredited by the Commission on Cancer, the American College of Radiology and is a QOPI® Certified Practice. Highlights of the opportunity are:
Provides genetic counseling to patients identified with predisposing characteristics and identified as being at potentially elevated risk for developing cancer
Elicits and interprets individual and family medical and psychosocial histories
Provides counseling to families or individuals with regard to results of genetic testing including:
arranging consultations with Medical Oncologists
screening/mental health professionals, or other specialists as required.
Collaborates with other providers and team members in providing all aspects of required care
Assists in clinical studies as needed.
Assist with community and professional education programs relating to the genetics of cancer
Attend patient care conferences and seminars, as well as various department meetings as required
Master’s in Genetic counseling required, and 2 years genetic counseling experience preferred
PLSF approved institution
