Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Cancer Pharmacology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Fellow position is to conduct research investigation into the characterization of oncogenic and tumor suppressor enhancer regions, as well as on the dissection of the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics in T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL) using mouse models under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. Performs research, experiments, and laboratory techniques of a specialized nature under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Drafts written reports for inclusion in manuscripts and grant proposals.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts research experiments to understand the role and mechanisms of oncogenic and tumor suppressor enhancers as well as the interplay between metabolism and epigenetics to unveil new therapeutic strategies.
Being able to effectively work with mouse models in vivo and perform FACS analyses.
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.
Assists with the instructing and training of students, fellows, lower-level professionals, and technicians in laboratory technicians, instrumentation, etc. to develop the skills necessary to perform the required functions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. and/or M.D. in a relevant science finishing their training (following their residency and/or fellowship) who wish to prepare for careers in academic medicine.
Similarly, experience with FACS analyses or the ability to effectively learn this technique will be needed.
Consideration to interview will also be given to applicants who are pending graduation. Documentation of PhD degree must be provided prior to starting employment.
