The Research Technician position will assist scientists in performing scientific research, development and/or clinical tasks of varying complexity. In general, this position will assist in the set up, operation and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment, monitoring experiments, making observations and calculating and recording results.

We are seeking a full-time research technician in the cancer biology laboratory of Dr. Andrew Lane in the Department of Medical Oncology
We are looking for candidates to be part of a team performing research to understand cancer genomics, leukemia biology, and mechanisms of therapy resistance, and how these might lead to new treatments for patients. This position will assist scientists in performing research tasks of varying complexity and may be tailored to the candidate???s experience. In general, they will assist in the design and execution of experiments, operation of laboratory instruments, making scientific observations, and calculating and recording results.
Great opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills, ideally who wants to learn about how a research team operates in addition to learning wet lab techniques.??
A portion of effort to include general lab management, such as ordering laboratory supplies and organization of biospecimen storage with accurate record keeping.??
Experience in cell culture and general laboratory molecular biology (such as PCR) or cell biology (such as flow cytometry) techniques is preferred but not required.
Experience with mouse experiments would also be an advantage but is not required.
Bachelor's Degree required with a major in biology or chemistry preferred.??
Knowledge of information and techniques related to either biology, chemistry, or medicine is preferred.
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and be able to work with a wide variety of faculty and staff.
Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work-related issues and problems.
Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks.
Ability to work within a team environment.
