Position DescriptionThe Research Assistant will support research on gene therapy to treat hereditary deafness and blindness. The job involves basic molecular biology, with genotyping, DNA and RNA extraction, preparing DNA for sequencing, cloning, and making mini-preps and maxi preps. The job also involves histology, including fixation, cryosectioning, staining for immunohistochemistry, and preparing samples for electron microscopy. Duties may also include working with mice and assessing auditory function in mice.
