POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESCoordinate joint activities with labs in other departments. Maintain and monitor large collection of mutated and transgenic fruitflies. Perform microdissection and microinjection procedures requiring considerable manual dexterity. Genetics procedures. Media preparation. Perform many biochemical techniques ranging from making chemical solutions to active compounds. The genetic work will involve maintaining and handling cultures of flies and requires use of a microscope. The individual will be required to keep complete and accurate records of his/her work in all laboratory notebooks.
