GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: We are seeking a bright and motivated individual for a Research Technician I position in the laboratory of Caroline Sokol, M.D., Ph.D., in the Center for Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases (CIID). The CIID is a multidisciplinary research center whose goal is to discover new molecular pathways in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.Many diseases are caused or worsened by immune system dysfunction. For example, allergic diseases are caused by immune activation against harmless environmental proteins. Using mouse and human models of allergy, our laboratory studies how the nervous system interacts with the immune system to initiate allergic immune responses. In order to do this, we utilize a wide variety of research techniques
