The Department of Neurological Surgery is seeking an Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist. The Specialist will work under the supervision of Dr. Annette Molinaro, the Director of the Biomedical Statistics and Informatics Division, and will play a critical role in managing all aspects of a brain tumor patient study. The Specialist will support brain tumor studies with regard to project management, maintaining specific protocols, data post-processing, data entry, compliance with the regulatory and UCSF policies, and collecting data to meet the reporting requirements of industry and other granting agencies. Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of research experience. Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master's degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization. Specialists appointed at the full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization. Experience performing and evaluating with statistical and bioinformatics analyses is required. Applicant must have all requirements met by time of hire. Applicants' materials must list current and/or pending qualifications upon submission. We prefer applicants who have an advance degree with at least 2 years of experience in Statistics/Biostatistics or Informatics with experience in medical/cancer studies. Proficient programming skill in R and/or SAS is a must. The candidate must possess the ability of working on multiple projects simultaneously, have the flexibility of working both collaboratively and independently, and have excellent communication skills.
