Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Associate - Genetics/Genomics
DescriptionThe Slavotinek lab is seeking to add a postdoctoral research fellow/associate to the team. The research program in the Slavotinek laboratory is focused on investigating the genetic causes of birth defects and rare syndromes and diseases. We use exome sequencing and whole genome sequencing to investigate the genetic etiology of developmental eye defects in patients with absent eyes (anophthalmia), small eyes (microphthalmia) and early onset of cataracts. Gene variants are further studied using in vitro assays and zebrafish as an animal model system, utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 for gene editing to model loss of function variants and CRISPR/Cas9 wi
