Position Announcement:
The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking a Clinical Geneticist in an academic track at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The desired candidate will hold an MD and have expertise in clinical genetics in the treatment of both children and adults with genetic disorders. ABMGG board certification or board eligibility is required. The successful candidate will be expected to perform scholarly activities and demonstrate academic productivity. The individual will also contribute to the teaching mission including genetic counseling students, graduate students, medical students, and clinical genetic residents.
Clinical track faculty are responsible for the teaching and service mission of the school.
Service: The primary responsibility of this position is clinical service in medical genetics. Clinical providers within the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics include 14 medical geneticists and ~ 30 clinical genetic counselors. Physicians with a broad background in medical genetics are sought to continue the expansion of our service. Interest in skeletal dysplasia, adult or pediatric cancer genetics, adult genetics or genomics is advantageous but not required.
Teaching: This position will also contribute to the teaching mission including genetic counseling students, graduate students, medical students, and clinical genetic residents.
Research: The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics is involved in clinical trials and registries particularly in the areas of inborn errors of metabolism, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and cardiovascular genetics.
