A staff scientist position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Srinivas Viswanathan at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (with affiliation to the Broad Institute). We use genomic and cutting-edge genome-scale functional genetic technologies to uncover drivers of genitourinary malignancies, with a specific focus on prostate and kidney cancers. The overarching aim of projects in the lab is to develop mechanistic insights that can be translated into improved outcomes for patients with genitourinary cancers.
The research project will be related to understanding the molecular mechanisms that drive genitourinary cancers with the goal of therapeutic development.
The ideal candidate should be exceptionally motivated, creative, highly collegial, and excited about scientific discovery and the prospect of translating basic insights into novel therapeutic strategies for patients with cancer.

Capable of independent analysis of data, developing figures and presentations to depict research findings and the ability to write review and research papers.
Ability to train and oversee the work of research technicians and/or students in the group.

PhD or MD/PhD with graduate degree in molecular biology, cellular biology, cancer biology/genetics, computational cancer genomics or related discipline preferred.
At least 5 years of experience and an advanced degree in biomedical sciences, with significant experience in molecular biology/biochemistry, and cell biology preferred.
Superb technical proficiency with the following: cell culture, genetic manipulation of cell lines (CRISPR/Cas9, shRNA), molecular/cell biology techniques, genetically engineered mouse models of cancer or other diseases.
Fluency or strong working knowledge of the principles of cancer genomics/genetics. Prior experience with the analysis of next-generation sequencing data is strongly preferred.
