The Department of Immunology maintains research programs that focus on translational and basic research in areas relevant to human disease. Our goal is to become a world-class center for the study of inflammation and the targeted development of novel therapeutics for both treatment and prevention of immune-mediated diseases.
Under close supervision of Principal Investigator, conducts a variety of routine experiments following established immunological procedures and protocols, which may include animal handling, performing routine immune assays, tissue culture, gel electrophoresis, and other laboratory techniques.
Animal manipulation: imaging, surgery to create osteoarthritis
Performs techniques such as tissue culture, PCR, immunohistochemistry, electrophoresis, protein purification and others
Records results and maintains accurate records of experiments
Performs limited data interpretation and assists with basic statistics and analysis
Maintains laboratory equipment and manages inventory of supplies
Prepares stock solutions, reagents and other media
Monitors animal colonies and performs husbandry
Collects samples and maintains census records
What We're Looking For
Knowledge and skills typically acquired through completion of Bachelor’s degree in science with 1+ year of relevant laboratory experience
Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
Good organizational skills and communication skills
Comfortable with lab animal handling
Minimum $19.30, Midpoint $23.15, Maximum $27.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
