Job Summary: | The School of Medicine and Public Health's (SMPH) Informatics and Information Technology Department is excited to be adding a new Academic Application Administrator to our Educational Technology team! This position will primarily focus on the implementation and support of a new application designed to facilitate scheduling, curriculum mapping, learner assessments and the data and analytics from a variety of academic technologies for our Academic Affairs units starting with our Medical Education program.
The Educational Technology team provides consultation and support to a variety of academic technologies and applications to the programs within Academic Affairs programs to include: Medical Education, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Public Health and Genetic Counseling.
Ideal candidates will have a willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, an ability to work independently and part of a team, be highly organized to ensure deadlines are met and show excitement for establishing a new application here at the school!
The new Academic Application Administrator will report to the Educational Technology Manager under the division of Academic Information Services. This project position is anticipated to last 2 years and has the potential to turn into a renewable position.

Responsibilities: | Configures, integrates, administers, and provides advanced and varied consultation, project management, and operational support of highly complex applications or services with a large number of users. Anticipates issues and devises resolution methodology to support the business operations of the institution. - 5% Creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts to maintain application security through user profile management
- 5% Monitors and maintains performance metrics for application features and recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions
- 10% Troubleshoots hardware, software, and system problems and resolves issues and questions by working with vendors
- 5% Participates in the evaluation of vendor software releases and impact
- 5% Coordinates and monitors updates and the installation of upgrades and patches
- 5% Recommends application enhancements or changes that may involve custom design, integrations, and third-party products
- 25% Participates in the design, development, and implementation of test and production objects. Defines user requirements and performs configuration, change management, and testing activities
- 5% Develops and maintains documentation related to the system. Communicates system enhancement or changes as needed
- 15% Plans and directs staff implementation of small to medium technical projects related to system as needed
- 10% Maintains accuracy and integrity of all data entered into academic applications
- 10% Provides customer support to academic applications

Qualifications: | Required Qualifications: - At least three years of experience supporting and/or facilitating the use of applications and or technologies - At least three years professional experience demonstrating effective technical problem solving skills - Experience providing excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technology concepts effectively with technically proficient and non-technically proficient individuals and or customers - Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team - High level attention to detail - Professional and self-motivated with an interest in supporting educational applications and technologies
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience working within higher education or clinical education settings |

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. |
Appointment Type, Duration: | Terminal, 24 month appointment. This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding |
Salary: | Minimum $65,000 ANNUAL (12 months) Depending on Qualifications |
