Research Technician
The Research Techinican will perform experiments for Dr. Brown's Labratory. The focus of research in our laboratory is to elucidate the factors underlying the action of steroid hormones, their receptors and co-regulators in hormone-dependent malignancies including breast and prostate cancer. This includes both the role of somatic mutations in the receptors and their co-regulators as well as changes in the epigenetically determined programs of gene expression controlled by these receptors. We utilize a combination of epigenomic profiling approaches such as ChIP-seq and CRISPR-based genetic screens in relevant cell culture models, model organisms and patient-derived tissues to identify key drivers of hormone dependence and potential new therapeutic targets.
