ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Department of Physical Therapy offers a 3-year Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and a 1-year Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. The DPT program is highly regarded and has an integrated modular curriculum that leverages active learning approaches to facilitate learning. We have a strong commitment to team-based teaching. An interdisciplinary PhD program and integrated interprofessional activities reflect the commitment of the Institute to interprofessional education. Our highly respected faculty is recognized for expertise as educators, scholars, and master clinicians, and for their involvement in leadership positions in the profession both regionally and nationally.
POSITION:
The Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a 12-month, full-time Instructor/Assistant professor position. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Responsibilities include teaching management of cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions and acute care, academic advising, research/scholarship, and service. Research startup may be available based on research agenda and potential.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong candidates will have prior clinical and teaching experience in the content area, and evidence of research experience based on peer-reviewed conference presentations and/or publications.
Required qualifications include:
A clinical doctorate (DPT)**
Prior clinical and/or academic teaching experience in the content area
Eligibility for physical therapy licensure in Massachusetts
Preferred qualifications include:
Specialty board certification
An academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) or candidacy status
A demonstrated record of scholarship
**Candidates without an academic doctorate will be expected to matriculate into a terminal degree program within one year from the beginning of the academic appointment.
