Job Summary: | The position will assist the principal investigator on managing lab routines, mentoring activities of lab members, and conduct multidisciplinary research for personalized medicine. The research focus is on the 1) characterization of cellular functions of phosphatase disease mutations and how they might be affected by therapeutics, and 2) mechanistic understanding and functional characterization of disease mutations found in phosphatase docking motifs in broad phosphatase substrates. Training will be provided for candidates hired at entry levels.

Responsibilities: | Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision. - 30% Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
- 10% Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
- 20% Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
- 20% Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
- 10% Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers
- 10% Performs literature reviews and writes reports

Education: | Preferred Bachelor's Degree in cellular biology, stem cell research, system biology, or closely related field. |
Qualifications: | - Strong interest in cell biology, stem cell research, system biology, molecular biology, and application of bioinformatic tools for personalized medicine. - Strong motivation in biomedical research. - Previous experience in cell biology and lab management is a plus. - Skills in protein expression, purification and characterization are favorable, but not essential. |
