The Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks a board eligible/certified Medical Geneticist to join the Department and Division as an Assistant/Associate/Professor in the Clinician Educator line.
The major criterion for appointment, reappointment and promotion for Clinician Educators, including Clinician Educators (Affiliated), is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
We expect the successful candidate to participate primarily in the care of patients under the care of the medical genetics service, biochemical genetics service and the perinatal genetics service. The successful candidate will be involved in formal and informal teaching of Medical Genetics residents, residents and fellows in other specialties, medical students and other graduate students.
The activities of the Division/Department are diverse and include participation in the education of Medical Genetics residents and students in the Masters of Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling Program.
Successful candidates should have an MD or equivalent degree with board eligibility or board certification in medical genetics and genomics and have medical licensure in California by the starting date.

About Stanford University School of Medicine, Division of Medical Genetics
The faculty and staff in the Division of Medical Genetics provide clinical genetic services at Stanford Children’s Health and Stanford Healthcare including general genetics/dysmorphology and biochemical genetics. In addition, we participate in multi-specialty clinics for craniofacial conditions, Down syndrome, neurogenetics and genetic disorders of the skin. Our educational programs include a two-year residency in Medical Genetics, a combined Pediatrics Medical Genetics Residency, a two year Master’s Program in Human Geneticist Genetic Counseling and a Medical Biochemical Fellowship. The faculty and staff are also involved in the education of medical students as well as residents and fellows from a variety of specialties. Our faculty and staff are involved in a wide variety of research projects, collaborating with researchers at Stanford and worldwide. We participate in ongoing projects in mitochondrial disorders, prenatal genetic screening and diagnosis, autism, the RASopathies, Down syndrome and fetal alcohol syndrome.
