The Department of Genetics, Genomics and Informatics has an opening for an Instructor. This is a non-tenure track position. Development to build accurate, unbiased, "reference-free" pangenomes in which each included genome is equally represented, and apply them to the create pangenomes in multiple species, in particular a human pangenome reference; Pangenome-wide association studies by imputing existing GWAS cohorts into the human pangenome reference; Development for supporting clinical diagnosis of rare diseases from complete genome assemblies; Improve of accuracy and safety of gene therapy by using pangenomic tools; Contribute to a collaborative and interdisciplinary research initiative at the intersection of medical research, data science, artificial intelligence and computational biology. May supervise and train post docs, lab personnel and students
