POSITION: Applications are invited for a 12?month, Tenure Stream faculty position in Health and Human Sciences at the Assistant/Associate Level to serve as a Program Director of the new Health and Human Sciences undergraduate major.
POSITIONDESCRIPTION: The School of Health and Human Sciences at UNC Greensboro (UNCG) is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead a new interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree program. This degree is designed to prepare its graduates 1) for success in entry-level allied health-related industries, or 2) to be competitive applicants to allied health-related graduate programs. Students in the program will be introduced to a wide range of allied health careers and clear pathways to attaining those careers, including their specific academic requirements. The director will provide administrative leadership in the continued development, launch, maintenance, and evaluation of the program as well as instruction in the program and scholarly activities The director will report to the Dean of Health and Human Sciences. The BS in Health and Human Sciences is explicitly interdisciplinary, drawing from a range of disciplines related to allied health fields with a focus on Interprofessional Education.
REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS:
An earned doctorate in a Health Science or related field
Experience in instruction and leadership/administration of undergraduate education
Evidence of scholarly work that would complement their role as the Director of the BS in Health and Human Sciences
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
Evidence of implementing interprofessional education initiatives through collaboration with other colleges and departments.
A strong understanding and appreciation of a wide variety of disciplines as well as the needs and strengths unique to each program.
Experience with the clinical requirements of health science programs and the ability to leverage existing partnerships with external health care and nonprofit providers.
Experience with and deep respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion as exhibited by a record of promoting diversity within a student body, faculty, staff, and administrative team.
Experience with First Generation college students and community college to 4-year university transfer students is especially welcome.
STARTDATE & SALARY: Aug 1, 2023; Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
