The Suh Laboratory at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center is actively seeking 1-2 highly motivated postdoctoral fellows interested in utilizing contemporary computational (epi)genomics methods and approaches to address biological questions related to aging, reproductive aging and aging-related diseases. Candidate should possess a solid background in genomics and bioinformatics, and display a strong interest in applying cutting-edge next-generation sequencing-based technologies to aging research.
The candidate fellow will be involved and primarily responsible for:
Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting publicly available data, including (epi)genomic annotation hubs, transcriptomic/proteomic databases, and GWAS and high-throughput sequencing datasets from individually relevant studies.
Generating novel hypotheses from the analysis and integration of data resources both inside and outside of the lab and developing research strategies.

A doctoral degree in biology, bioinformatics, computational biology or another appropriate field.
Comprehensive knowledge of NGS data analysis flow and hands-on experience with at least one aspect of its applications (e.g., WGS/WES, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq,scRNA-seq,4C,HiC, etc.)
Basic knowledge of human genome, gene expression, and cell biology.
Familiar with R and one or more other programming languages, e.g., Python or Perl.
The ability of independent learning and thinking in a highly dynamic and decentralized environment, as well as being a team player to contribute to many ongoing collaborative projects.
