The Bloomberg Kimmel Institute is seeking a Sr. Research Data Analyst to lead single cell RNA sequencing and TCR sequencing analytics. At the Bloomberg-Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (BKI), we are integrating complex immunogenomics with big data to dissect the driving patterns for responsiveness to immunotherapy, as well as identifying novel biomarkers to guide treatment decisions. Over the past year, the Smith/Pardoll Labs have generated massive immunogenomics datasets consisting of single cell RNA-seq/TCR-seq of ~3,000,000 cells from more than 100 specimens from non-small cell lung cancers and head and neck cancers with well-annotated clinical outcomes. In addition to this, we have generated bulk TCR sequencing data from >2,500 specimens consisting of data from over 2,000,000 cells. A dedicated research analyst is required to work with immunologists, senior bioinformaticians, and clinicians to fully mine this extensive dataset and to push forward innovative, novel discovery platforms, and ultimately, accelerate our work to impact clinical decision-making and improving patient outcomes.
The Sr. Research Data Analyst will be active in the data pre-processing stages as well as analysis and interpretation of results. Will be involved in designing and developing analysis plans to address biological hypotheses in our bank of single cell data, mostly acquired from lung cancer patients treated with checkpoint blockade. Will interact daily with other data analysts within the Institute, as well as Immunologists, Genomics experts, and clinicians. This position requires collaboration with clinical and scientific investigators in research/study design, data analysis plans, algorithm development, grant applications, and preparation of presentations and publications. The candidate should work independently and in collaboration with faculty to solve problems posed by the clinical and laboratory investigators along the study design, data generation, collection and management process, interaction with bioinformatic experts, biostatistician program developers, computational scientists, health informatic experts as well as postdoc fellows from the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Bloomberg School of Public Health on our immunogenomic data mining initiatives with the goal of translating these findings into therapeutic modalities for cancer patients.
