The Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine and the Stony Brook University Cancer Center, Stony Brook, NY are seeking an experienced GI physician scientist to participate in clinical faculty practice and lead the development of a clinical research program in GI Oncology including therapeutic clinical trials. The candidate should have extensive experience in the conduct of clinical trials, including the initiation of investigator initiated trials. Experience with IND submissions, pharmaceutic collaborations, and supervision of clinical trial operations is expected. We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual with excellent leadership and organizational abilities. Participation in the mission of the Stony Brook Cancer Center including expansion of its clinical trial portfolio and investigator initiated trials; and collaboration with the existing strong programs in cancer biology, metabolomics, lipidomics, cancer imaging, bioinformatics, quantitative biology, and an Institute of Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery is anticipated Contributions to the teaching and educational mission of the Division of Hematology/Oncology are expected.
Resources for building and successfully operating clinical trials programs will be provided, including resources for recruitment of additional junior faculty.
Required Qualifications: MD or equivalent. Board Certified in Internal Medicine. Board Certified in Medical Oncology. Patient care experience and interest in leading the development of a clinical research program in GI Oncology.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to provide leadership within a complex organization.
