The Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, seeks applications for a Visiting Temporary Assistant Professor to begin August 1, 2023. This is a full-time temporary non tenure-eligible faculty position with an appointment not to exceed one year. This position is open to candidates in any area of statistics, data science, and/or probability. There is an expectation that our new colleague will fully participate in meetings and department/program activities. A Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field is required. Demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research is expected.
The teaching responsibilities for this position will involve teaching three courses per semester at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

The Dr. Bing Zhang Department of Statistics offers a stimulating and nurturing academic environment. The faculty are involved in theoretical, methodological, and interdisciplinary research. They direct research programs across a broad range of areas, including bioinformatics, computational statistics, nonparametric methods, applied probability, and high-dimensional inference. The Department annually enrolls over 50 supported graduate students pursuing PhD and master's degrees in Statistics.
