There is an open post-doctoral position in the laboratory of Samuel Young at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, IA. https://young.lab.uiowa.edu/ Twitter @samyounglab. In collaboration with the laboratory of Dr. Marlan Hansen https://medicine.uiowa.edu/oto/profile/marlan-hansen we are focused on overcoming the significant knowledge gap in and tools for translational approaches to develop treatments for sensorineural hearing loss. Our goal is to develop viral vector gene therapy approaches for specific classes of these disorders that are caused by mutations in genes that exceed the limited packaging capacity of Adeno-Associated Virus.
