Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Oral Biology at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the candidate will perform highly specialized stem cell mediated tissue regeneration and microbiology studies.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Independently perform specialized research operations ongoing in the laboratory.
Perform experiments for gene expression, protein expression, and histology in vitro and in vivo.
Perform microbiology experiments to determine antimicrobial activity.
Maintain the laboratory equipment to meet the unique needs of the research activity.
Generate, compile, present data with appropriate conclusions relevant to the research project and write manuscripts suitable for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Develop strategies for the standardization and evaluation of existing procedures, modify them as necessary and propose/standardize new procedures where required.
Assist with the preparation of grant proposals, presentations and publications.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D in stem cell biology, molecular biology, microbiology, oral biology, or a related discipline.
Experience in a combination of animal handling, basic microbiological techniques (phenotypic analysis; biofilm formation; preference for anaerobic or microaerophilic organisms and BSL-2), molecular biology, genetics (real time RT-PCR; RNASeq), and/or biochemistry (histology; protein analysis; proteomics) techniques are essential.
