The Stanford School of Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic Research Assistant/Life Science Research Professional 1. Work will be conducted in Dr. Frank Longo's laboratory in the Department of Neurology. The goal of the Longo lab is to elucidate the signaling mechanisms by which novel small molecule ligands prevent/stop/reverse neurodegeneration in genetic mouse models of Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and Frontotemporal dementia. The Longo lab investigates the therapeutic effect of modulating neurotrophin receptors as a way to explore new mechanisms by which synapses and cells degenerates, using multiple levels of analysis, such as ex vivo acute brain slice electrophysiology to study synaptic plasticity, immu
