Dr. Minji Kim and Dr. Joshua Welch are seeking a joint lab manager to oversee their wet lab. Come join a highly interdisciplinary team using a combination of computational and experimental approaches to understand epigenetic regulation, cell differentiation, and cell reprogramming. We use state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to design and interpret experimental data, which we generate with cutting-edge experimental techniques such as chromatin conformation assays and single-cell multi-omics. The successful candidate will be given opportunities to train, mentor and supervise other scientists, contribute to the scientific mission of the laboratories, and even design and carry out independent research projects.
Job duties include:
Preparing and maintaining accreditation of the laboratory with EHS, ensuring the Laboratories are BSL2 compliant
Ordering equipment and laboratory supplies
As the labs develop - functional and administrative supervision over lab assistants, graduate students and other assigned research and support personnel and planning and coordinating work of lab assistants, graduate students, entry level research staff, and other support personnel
Culturing and differentiating human and mouse cells
Designing, supervising, and performing single-cell transcriptomic and epigenomic experiments on cultured cells
Designing and performing multiplexed CRISPR screens on cultured cells
Bachelor's degree in a basic science field of study such as: molecular cell and developmental biology, or other related field.
Intermediate: 4-5 years of experience in a related field
Associate: 1-3 years of experience in a related field
Master's degree in a basic science field of study such as: molecular cell and developmental biology, or other related field
2-3 years experience working with cell culture
Experience with high-throughput sequencing experiments such as RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, and Hi-C
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
