ABOUT MGH INSTITUTE:

MGH Institute of Health Professions is a graduate school in Boston, MA that provides entry-level, professional, and post-professional programs including, Nursing, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Genetic Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant Studies. The PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and a PhD and Master of Science in Health Professions Education have been added in recent years along with two brand new programs: Master of Health Administration in Leadership and Master of Science in Healthcare Data Analytics to meet rising demand for highly educated health care professionals, educators, and researchers. Integrating classroom learning with research and clinical experience, the Institute grants doctoral degrees and master's degrees, awards certificates of advanced study, and offers continuing education to practicing professionals. New certificate and degree programs are developed regularly.

The Department of Physical Therapy offers a 3-year Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and a 1-year Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. The DPT program is highly regarded and has an integrated modular curriculum that leverages active learning approaches to facilitate learning. We have a strong commitment to team-based teaching. An interdisciplinary PhD program and integrated interprofessional activities reflect the commitment of the Institute to interprofessional education. Our highly respected faculty is recognized for expertise as educators, scholars, and master clinicians, and for their involvement in leadership positions in the profession both regionally and nationally.

POSITION:

The Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at the MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a 12-month, full time Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position. Responsibilities include teaching management of neurological conditions, academic advising, research/scholarship, and service. Candidates with prior teaching experience, clinical experience in neurology and acute care (pediatric experience a plus), evidence of research based on peer-reviewed publications and evidence of grant submissions or successful funding in the content area are encouraged to apply. Research start-up provided commensurate with research agenda.

Qualifications
Candidates will have an academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, ScD, DSc) or candidacy status and clinical or academic teaching experience. A demonstrated record of scholarship with a clear scholarly agenda, and eligibility for physical therapy licensure in Massachusetts are required.
