The Department of Data Science at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a Scientific Program Manager for the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) of the Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN) (http://humantumoratlas.org).?? We are seeking a candidate with experience supporting the planning and execution of collaborative research projects. This role will directly engage and coordinate collaboration and data sharing efforts across scientific consortia, managing and processing data for a distributed network of research centers.?? This is an exciting opportunity to lead efforts and contribute to the strategic vision of HTAN, a high-profile ???Cancer Moonshot??? project funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). ??

High-Level DCC Strategy and Coordination:??

• Oversee all major activities of the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) of the Human Tumor Atlas Network, and work with Principal Investigators (PIs) and the NCI to ensure that the DCC effectively meets all major milestones.
• Coordinate work across the four DCC institutions (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Sage Bionetworks, and the Institute for Systems Biology). This requires organization of work across a geographically distributed set of collaborators and bioinformatics engineers.?? Some limited travel may be necessary.??

HTAN Network Management:

• Manage communications with all participating HTAN atlases and NCI Program Officers, to ensure timely data deposition to the DCC and ensure coordination and collaboration with other NCI initiatives.
• Develop the scientific content and agenda for the bi-annual HTAN Face to Face Meetings.
• Oversee ongoing administrative activities related to HTAN network, including HTAN working groups and the HTAN Steering Committee.

NIH Grant Management:

• Write annual DCC progress reports to the NIH.
• Manage the HTAN DCC budget across the four DCC institutions.
• Contribute to grant writing for future funding opportunities.

• Masters or PhD in genomics, bioinformatics, systems biology or related scientific fields.
• 3+ years of relevant and successful project or program management experience in academia or industry, with demonstrated experience managing collaborative scientific projects.
• 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional teams of individuals with diverse skill sets.
• Expertise in cancer genomics or systems biology, translational research, and cloud-based data sharing platforms.
• Experience communicating with technical experts at various levels. Ability to write clear, concise documentation.
• Excellent organization skills, including the ability to organize teams.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Project or program management certification (e.g. PMP) desired.

The candidate must also demonstrate outstanding personal initiative, work effectively as part of a team, meet deadlines, and efficiently multitask.
