Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
Requirements include one of the following acceptable degrees: MA (Genetics Counselor), BSN and RN degrees with substantial experience in pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery or genetics would also be appropriate. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and the capability for precise and exacting collection of genetic and clinical data.
Required Skill/ability 5:
Interact with external contacts such as staff at participating hospitals, principal investigators at other institutions, NIH staff, and various governmental agencies to solicit information and consult on methodologies for the research study. Attend yearly PCGC meetings at the NIH with PIs and other PCGC coordinators to discuss progress on the project.

Required Skill/ability 1:
Oversee, coordinate and perform the day-to-day duties necessary for the operation of this research project involving data intake and patient education. Work with the PIs, other PCGC centers and the administrative coordinating center to establish a new framework for congenital heart disease data collection from the EMR.
Required Skill/ability 4:
Interact with clinical coordinators at the other US PCGC centers. Interact with internal contacts such as research staff, principal investigators, clinical staff, administrators, and various University departments to discuss and collaborate on research issues to determine research plans, techniques, and methodology for research study.
Required Skill/ability 2:
Responsible for patient recruitment from the inpatient and outpatient pediatric and adult congenital cardiology services at Yale New Haven Hospitals. Determine interview schedules, interviewing methods and coordinate on-going data collection from the pediatric cardiology clinics, operating room and cardiac catheterization lab.
Master's Degree in Genetics or a related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
